Would you be able to attached the modified file? Should I reinstall Ubuntu 16.10 and and try again?

I would recommend performing the opencv section of install file. Then if you want to get the modified file I mentioned it is in my fork(only one as of now)of jevoisbase in the Contrib folder. Shouldn't need to reinstall Ubuntu
