Power through serial connector possible?

Question

I'm not sure if there are any schematics available, but is it possible to power the camera through the serial 5V logic connection? Given a 1A connection is provided?

No, the power pin of the serial connector sets the voltage level for serial communications only, but does not feed into the main power line. Indeed, the main power line must always be 5V, but the serial voltage level can be 5V or 3.3V.
